Soniah’s mother went to work as a house help after losing her parents. She was abused at her place of work and became pregnant. When they realized, she was sent away and ended up living in the Kibera slums.
She met a woman in Kibera that let her stay with her. The woman arranged to have a young man take her in as his wife. She didn’t know that the man already had another wife. After giving birth to 2 more kids, she realized this. He abandoned Soniah’s mother and the kids, and she is now struggling to raise them alone.
